With Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side angling for a top-three finish and a route into the Champions League, this will be a game the Blues must win to keep the pressure on their opponents.
Chelsea has won five of their last six Premier League matches and are in a high position to strike for six in their previous seven with Lampard generating some of the club’s best football during the season.
One player, in particular, American Christian Pulisic, has been in stellar form, netting three times in their last five matches, and providing two assists. It seems inevitable that the wide forward contributes again in front of the goal.
Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United has bounced back after their mini slump in form with two scalps against Tottenham and Wolverhampton Wanderers, and hard-earned draw at Turf Moor.
It will be a tightly contested match that is likely to share the spoils with each team coming away with a singular point.
Sunday 12 July
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have had an excellent season, challenging for a top-four finish with the elite Premier League sides.
While the recent form has been a problem having lost their last two matches, they can find comfort knowing they have seen over 2.5 goals in five of their last six matches against Everton.
This match usually produces goals and has scored at least two goals in their last matches against the Toffees in all competitions – a stat that Espirito Santo will be hoping rings true once again on Sunday afternoon.
Everton, on the other hand, struggles immensely when paired up with Wolves. Carlo Ancelotti has stabilized the North West club since arriving, but there is still much to be done for Everton to be consistently winning and challenging for major honours.
This game will produce goals in abundance, but Wolves are likely to come away from the victors and maintain their standing in the top six.
Monday 13 July
Manchester United might be in spectacular form since the end of lockdown began, but they will know that Southampton has found their golden period at the right time.
After winning against Manchester City and Watford and a draw versus Everton, the Saints have propelled themselves up the table and out of the ongoing relegation fight.
It has been a recent theme of Ralph Hassenhüttl’s side that they find themselves on the scoresheet, but it is extremely likely that Manchester United will find the net’s back.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have been the team to beat in recent weeks, extending their unbeaten record to 16 matches. If they want to finish in the Champions League qualifying spots, they have to win their remaining four games in the Premier League.
Arguably their biggest test since football resumed in England, Manchester United has shown themselves to be patient when asked upon to record results. The Red Devils have scored at least three goals in their last four Premier League matches – paving their way for another rout on Monday night.
The three points are likely to come back to Manchester with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
